The story behind
afternoon stories
We discovered our mutual love for beautiful paper and unique special prints during our study at Art school in Rotterdam. When Anne-Marije moved to Italy, we decided to start a business together where we create fine products inspired by her new Italian surroundings.
We develop sustainable and timeless wallpaper with detailed illustrations of trees, animals and urban elements. They are hand-drawn by Anne-Marije and made into a digital pattern by Anne. In addition to our wallpaper we also have a collection of postcards.
Anne-Marije (1986) moved to Italy for love, after finishing Art School. She found the perfect balance between country life and teaching English in Primary Education.
Anne (1989) stayed in Rotterdam and became art teacher at a vocational school. She loves teaching, exploring her own hometown Rotterdam and cooking.

Sustainable wallpaper
Afternoon stories wallpaper is printed on high quality FSC paper using the best and most environmentally friendly techniques. The inks are water-based and solvent-free. The patterns are illustrated by hand in Italy and are digitally printed with care in the Netherlands. To guarantee the best quality and prevent overproduction, our wallpaper is only printed on demand.
